Healthcare Issue Reporting

Boots on the Ground ~ Grassroots Reporting

The MOAA Virtual Council is the only MOAA council with healthcare affinity members, in all 50 States, utilizing all venues of healthcare delivery for themselves and their families.

With the professional education, training and experience, these members are positioned to recognize, identify, and evaluate policies and practices which may affect, impact, or have an expectant negative outcome in the Military Healthcare System.

The Virtual Council Healthcare Issue Team (VC-HIT) will collect reported member issues to identify trends or issues which may impact the overall healthcare of our Uniformed Service beneficiaries. This IS NOT for resolution or action on personal issues or care. All members will continue to use the patient advocate, of the appropriate agency, for personal issues.  The issue would have an impact or effect on the overall, general beneficiary population.

Members from the Uniformed Service Nurse Advocates, Public Health Service, and Healthcare Professionals virtual chapters will serve on the Council VC-HIT board to review and evaluate reports and recommend further actions. The VC-HIT will serve as an adjunct for MOAA healthcare issue reporting program and work in collaboration with the MOAA Healthcare and Government Relations offices.

There will be Full compliance with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) standards; NO Personal Health Information(PHI); NO advice or recommendations discussed with the reporting member.  This program is for data collection, tracking and reporting ONLY.
